A rainy day family portrait session with the Archer Family turned into a fun toddler chase. We chose the Lonsdale Quay area as it was a short walk from the family home, and the little one loves watching for the Seabus crossing Burrard Inlet. Whenever Harvey had a chance he was always on the run looking for buses and puddles, seemingly his two favourite things.
We started inside the market, where the family often shops, to get some lifestyle imagery. I always try to capture my subjects engaged in an activity they would do on a regular day. It makes things a bit more comfortable and allows them to act more natural. It also got us out of the downpour that was happening this fine Sunday morning. Fortunately, the rain stopped as we ventured outside allowing us to put away the umbrellas and capture some great reflections on the pavement. I love this location for the city skyline along the waterfront and the nearby parkland.
